New Hilton Head Restaurant Declared “Just Like Manhattan,” If You Squint While Passing Cross-Stitch Store Next Door
Locals say the island’s newest restaurant brings a big-city feel to an otherwise ordinary strip plaza.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC — Diners flocking to the island’s newest restaurant are raving about its “big city feel,” insisting the experience is “just like Manhattan” — provided you squint hard enough while walking past the cross-stitch supply store and bridge club on either side.

“This is exactly like SoHo,” said local resident Susan Whitaker, savoring a $17 tuna tartare served in a martini glass. “Well, SoHo if SoHo also had free parking, an early-bird menu, and everyone was home in bed by 9:15.”

Patrons praised the restaurant’s “industrial chic” décor, which features distressed wood tables, Edison bulbs, and a mural of oysters wearing sunglasses. “It’s like Brooklyn, but with ribeyes and truffle fries — and the view of a UPS Store across the parking lot really nails that urban grit,” said tourist Greg Patterson of Columbus, Ohio.

The restaurant’s owners said they were inspired by Manhattan dining but adapted it for the island. “We wanted a true metropolitan edge,” explained co-owner Thomas Rutledge, “so we put shrimp and grits on a slate tile and doubled the price.”

At press time, diners confirmed the place truly felt like Manhattan — especially once you stepped outside and realized the restaurant was wedged between a Dollar Tree and a tanning salon.
